Nice work. When I first saw the thumb I thought it might be Neil Gaiman
or the Sandman. After reading your description, I'm guessing that it might be a self portrait. It does kinda look like you.
Still, it has a very dreamlike quality to it.
Well, I definately like it. Good choise of colors, interesting lightsource and shading, and good overall details. Three things though. Firstly, why did you add the title to the picture itself when you have so much black space under the picture? Wasn't the title supposed to be places there? Also, the eyes are just... well holes. This is not necessarily a backdraw, but at least an indication of the eyes may improve the picture. Also, I can't really place the lighter colored wall (assuming that that is what it is) behind the head. Does it have any purpose? I realise it adds to the contrast between the man and the background, but the good highlighting on the man itself may even come out better if the mans head wasn't surrounded by a less dark wall.
I like the blur...the stylised appearance...i shan't critique it because i am not an artist of any talent and not that my opinion counts for any one other than myself but this appeals to me^^
nice use of the darks and lights in this piece! the wings are absolutely fantastic and i love the way that the strokes are so free and you allow them to blend together! keep this up! all though +favs are well deserved!
ok, 2 thinks stick out right away
1) Your frame, on the bottem part make it even with the rest, it looks very unproffessional.
2)upper right corner, it needs to be a little dimmer, or just have some more detial and variations in that light.
Thx for the comment. I have to disagree about the frame thing, Ive been to alot of photo galleries, and they have this kind of frames, srry if ya dont like it, But ur right about the detial on the light maybe, ill see what i can do later.
Thanks for the comments!
i LOVE the soft, smokey feel to it... for me.. i dont know.... it calls autumn perfectly to mind for me... the leaves in brown and gold and orange... smell of fires and cool winds.... i love the darkness you make without using black... and the light...... title really brings it together....
oh wow, that's really nice! Love the dark, mysterious eyes, and the warm colours. The opivture is so inviting and soft, but then you're entranced by those deep black eyes saying "stay the fuck away." in that way that you know they just want to be all alone, and aren't trying to terrorize you. Nice work
I also like the extremes in contrast, how its pitch black in the bottom left, and very bright in the top right.
I LOVE this piece. I'm so glad you posted in my forum, hahaha.
I absolutely love how you bring the color from the light into the feathers. It brings the picture together. And you can see the colors from the light in his shirt too, which helps in the connection.
This is an awesome choice of colors you used. Great detail in the face.. and I love his hair. (I've always wanted hair just like that). I REALLY like how most of the picture is blurry, then you see his face more detailed than everything else. It helps draw your attention to the emotion he has. One last thing I like about this piece, is the consistancy of the strokes. I really like this effect you used; the smooth, sort of unplanned messy strokes. Fits with this piece well.
I think I may just have to this piece.. just because I can't find anything wrong with it. Bravo.
Awesome airbrushing. Great strokes and the colors are wonderful. The feather. awesome job. great feel to it. The light. i love and hate it at the same time. because i see the brightness to be a good thing while other times it's distracting. but i still like it. Wicked job!
